Manchester United Consider Move for £22m Real Madrid Playmaker: Sir Alex Keen On Rafael Van der Vaart
Sir Alex Ferguson is reportedly considering a move for Real Madrid attacking midfielder Rafael Van der Vaart this summer. The Manchester United boss has been looking at potential new central midfielders and is known to be an admirer of the Dutch international playmaker.
Manuel Pellegrini persuaded the former Ajax and Hamburg man to not leave the Bernabeu last summer by insisting that he would be part of his first team plans but Van der Vaart only found himself starting just 18 matches in all competitions.
Ferguson is looking to bring in new creative midfield options to help provide the ammunition for his front line as well as chip in with a significant amount of goals as well, the type of player that Sir Alex hasn’t been able to call upon since Paul Scholes was at his peak.
Van der Vaart seems very likely to leave Real this summer, even if Pellegrini is axed, and the 27 year old would surely be up for a move to the Premier League and the chance of resurrecting his career at Man United.
